The F-14 Jet stands as one of Drumwell’s flagship projects, having been nominated for numerous prestigious awards and accolades. This model is crafted at a 1/32 scale of the F-14 fighter jet, featuring dimensions of 590mm in length and 610mm in maximum wingspan. The model incorporates a multitude of motors, enabling precise control over wing angle, flaps, cockpit opening, tail flaps, landing gear, and more. Additionally, it is equipped with an array of sounds and lights, all operable via an infrared remote control.
A distinctive aspect of this project was its distribution method: the model was sold in parts in conjunction with a magazine. Each issue provided a selection of components, designed to be assembled by model enthusiasts using only basic tools. This reverse engineering challenge necessitated deconstructing the complete model into over 1,000 individual pieces, excluding electrical components, to align with the magazine’s release schedule. The team at Drumwell takes immense pride in the dedication and effort invested into this endeavor and is thrilled with the project’s successful outcome.
